OGRE CENTRAL LIBRARY
The Ogre Central Library is a bold architectural masterpiece by Latvian standards – dramatic glazed roof structures with curved and broken shapes, incorporating smoke vents and providing up to 80% natural daylight.
The large wedding hall window – likely the biggest and heaviest in Latvia – measures 7 meters in length, 2.6 meters in height, and weighs over 1.3 tons, with no visible frame.
This is one of the first public buildings in Latvia constructed using CTL and GTL wooden structural systems.
Awarded “Best Building in Latvia 2022” in the categories Public New Building and Timber Building.
